Latest insights report by eMarketingEye shows a positive trend for hotel and travel searches around the world and specially for Sri Lanka. The analysis includes travelers’ search behavior, interest & demand for Asia Pac and Sri Lanka with the help of Google Trends we have identified patterns for variety of search terms that includes; destination + hotel, flights, OTA, world renowned hotel brands & top Sri Lankan hotel brand related keywords. IMPACT ON APAC REGION
Travel demand in the APAC region saw a gradual increase especially in “Destination + Hotels” related search queries for various APAC destinations. We see the same for all top Asian destinations such as Singapore, Sri Lanka, Maldives and Bangkok.
Search queries for “Destination + Flights” still showed a slight increase since 1st April since the opening of boarders were announced for some destinations,
Top Hotel Brand Searches worldwide shows a positive trend over the last 90 days and further increase in last 30 days
Travel searches shows a positive trend across all the destinations while the demand for Sri Lanka shows a consistent growth
Major OTA brands shows a very good pick up and positive trend. Demand for OTA searches show a further increase since 1st Week of June
SRI LANKA RELATED SEARCHES SHOW A POSITIVE TREND STARTING FROM APR 2020
An upward trend for searches related to hotels and top local brands in Sri Lanka was seen from audiences worldwide from the beginning of April. However a huge demand from Sri Lanka itself is well notable.
A positive trend was shown for Destination + Hotels searches for top Sri Lankan Destinations such as Colombo, Kandy, Bentota etc.
We see a positive trend for Sri Lanka travel intent related searches. Searches are primarily originated from Middle East and Europe. We see a positive trend for Beach related searches while others shows just positive signs.
GOOGLE SEARCH TRENDS ON BRAND SEARCHES – HOTEL BRANDS
City hotels still shows a flat curve while we see a positive upward trends for resorts and beach hotels. Also hotels who had implemented special offers such as Voucher Sales, Bank Offers such as Aliya Resort, Amaya Lake, Maalu Maalu and Amaya Hills shows a notable increase in search trends. Majority of the searches were originated from Sri Lanka.
