We are proud to launch the first-ever AI Visibility Study for Maldives Resorts, offering a comprehensive analysis of how resort brands are discovered, ranked, and recommended across AI-generated responses on ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, and Claude.
As travellers increasingly turn to AI to plan their trips, this report offers a groundbreaking new lens for understanding brand discovery in the age of AI.
AI is now becoming a key part of how guests discover and choose resorts. From questions like “What’s the best water villa resort in the Maldives?” to “Where should we go for our honeymoon in the Maldives?”, AI-generated answers are shaping travel decisions.
For resorts, appearing in these recommendations is becoming as valuable as securing a top position on page one of search results.
eMarketingEye’s AI Visibility Report for Maldives Resorts examines who is winning this new layer of discovery. Strong AI visibility can directly influence brand awareness, website traffic, and future bookings.
How Was the Study Conducted?
The analysis was carried out using AEYEPULSE, eMarketingEye’s proprietary AI visibility monitoring tool. High-intent travel prompts were submitted across four leading AI platforms, namely ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, and Claude, to replicate how a real traveller would research and shortlist a resort.
Each AI response was analysed for brands mentioned, their position in ranked answers, and external sources cited. In total, 242 brands were discovered across 20 segments, including Beach Resort, Honeymoon/Romantic, Beach Villas, Luxury, Pool Villas, All Inclusive, Water Villas, Family, Private Island Resorts, Adventure, and more.
Which Brands were the Most Visible?
The top three resorts leading overall AI visibility were Soneva Jani at 33.1%, The St. Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort at 23.0%, and Anantara Kihavah Maldives Villas at 22.7%.
The report uncovered the 30 most visible resort brands in the Maldives, giving operators and marketers a broader view of where brands stand in the AI discovery landscape. Notably, the top 30 was heavily represented by international and local chains, with very few independent resorts making it into the ranking.
Going deeper than the overall rankings, the report identified the top 10 brands across 20 key segments covering everything from Water Villas, Beach Villas, Honeymoon and Private Island Resorts to Weddings and Butler Service. This segment-level view offers some of the richest insights in the study, showing not just who leads overall, but which brands dominate specific traveller intents that drive booking decisions in the Maldives.
Why This Matters Now?
AI-driven discovery is the next major shift in how travellers find where to stay, following traditional search, OTAs, and social media. Resorts that establish strong visibility early will hold a meaningful advantage as guests increasingly rely on AI to plan their trips.
